Home sales in South Central Kansas rose by 11.6% in November compared to the prior year. Sales in November 2024 totaled 777 units, up from 696 in 2023.

Among existing homes, 685 units sold in November, an increase of 8.0% from 634 units that sold in 2023. The average sale price of existing homes was $252,471. This represents an increase of 9.8% from the November 2023 average price of $229,964.

For new construction, 92 sales occurred in November, up from 62 units the prior year, an increase of 48.4%. The average sale price of new homes in November was $395,363, down 4.8% from the same period last year.

A total of 698 contracts for sale were written in November 2024, up from 641 in November 2023. This is an increase of 8.9%. Contracts written during the month reflect, in part, sales that are set to close in the near future.

The inventory of active listings in South Central Kansas stood at 2,055 units at the end of November, which is up from 1,580 homes that were on the market at the end of November last year. At the current rate of sales, this figure represents 2.6 months' supply of homes on the market.
