South Central Kansas MLS Releases Home Sales Figures for December 2025


Home sales in South Central Kansas rose by 9.7% in December compared to the prior year. Sales in December 2025 totaled 895 units, up from 816 in 2024.


Among existing homes, 667 units sold in December, an increase of 14.6% from 582 units that sold in 2024. The average sale price of existing homes was $251,694. This represents an increase of 0.1% from the December 2024 average price of $251,371.


For new construction, 82 sales occurred in December, up from 74 units the prior year, an increase of 10.8%. The average sale price of new homes in December was $409,348, down 5.7% from the same period last year.


A total of 643 contracts for sale were written in December 2025, down from 654 in December 2024. This is a decrease of 1.7%. Contracts written during the month reflect, in part, sales that are set to close in the near future.

The inventory of active listings in South Central Kansas stood at 2,232 units at the end of December, which is up from 1,816 homes that were on the market at the end of December last year. At the current rate of sales, this figure represents 2.5 months' supply of homes on the market.
